I love Twitter! It's fun and a great way to meet new people and learn new things -- professional and personal. Since I've been an avid Twitter-er (going on about a year), I've discovered a wealth of info about PR, social media, politics, music -- you name it. It's all there.
One of the coolest things about Twitter is that there are literally hundreds of free Twitter-related applications out there: clients/viewers, search engines, measurement tools, and the list goes on and on and on...
I was recently playing around with TweetStats, a free site that tracks various aspects of your Twitter activity: number of Tweets, Tweets per day, number of @ replies, Tweet density, and other things. It also allows you to make a customizable (font, size, color, number of terms, etc.) word cloud of all of the terms you Tweet most often. It uses another free service to create the cloud: Wordle. Here's mine:
If you haven't checked this out, you should. It's cool. And, it says something about you. Here's what I learned from my Twitter cloud:
- I Tweet about Twitter-realated issues and topics -- a lot!
- I Tweet a lot about media/social media (no surprise)
- Seems like I re-tweet frequently (see, I told you that there's good info in the Twitterverse)
- I say 'thanks' often...my mother would be proud of my good manners (awww....)
Anyway, just another cool and interesting thing to share.
Enjoy!
